Creative Childcare & Enrichment
I work with children through a blend of academic support, structured creative enrichment, and environmental education informed nature connection. My approach is engaging, attentive, and child-centered; supporting both learning and inner development.
What I Offer
Academic Support
I offer private tutoring in math (ages 6 - 14), science (ages 6-14), social studies (ages 6-14), and English (ages 6 - 18). In my sessions, I focus on building confidence and independent problem-solving skills, helping students approach challenges with clarity and self-trust.
My aim is to teach in a way that conveys the deeper relevance of what the child is learning, translating abstract material into something meaningful, engaging, and genuinely connected to the child’s world.
Structured Creative Enrichment
I have professional experience teaching filmmaking, stop-motion animation, video game design, robotics, basic coding, and creative writing to children between the ages of 6 and 13. My aim is always to help children bring their ideas to life through storytelling and visual media.
Hands-on & Grounded Activities
Ceramics, painting, cooking, nature connection activities, and offline creative work that supports focus, patience, and connection to the physical world.
Childcare
Reliable, present, and thoughtful care. I aim to create a calm environment where children feel safe, engaged, and understood.
My Approach
I believe children learn best when their natural curiosity is cultivated, supported, and guided. My work is centered around:
- Encouraging imagination and creative thinking
- Supporting self-awareness and confidence
- Balancing structure with openness
- Each session is adapted to the child's curiosity and interest; there’s no rigid formula.
About Me
I am creative educator with a background in afterschool enrichment program design, private tutoring, and alternative education (Environmental Education, Montessori, and STEM/STEAM Makerspace education) for children between the ages of 2 and 18. As an individual, I am a very dynamic and independent thinker with a host of my own creative projects and interests spanning creative writing, filmmaking, Buddhism, meditation, illustration, solo travel, video game design, and wilderness skills/nature immersion. I am also an avid reader of literature (Hermann Hesse, Italo Calvino, Ray Bradbury, John Williams, and more.)
I attended a Steiner and Montessori inspired independent school while I was growing up in Atlanta, GA that very much shaped my holistic and student-centered approach to education. Later, I went to an environmental ed boarding school in North Carolina called Outdoor Academy that deeply inspired my love of helping children build and maintain their connection with nature. As an adult, I studied and worked in filmmaking in London while also working as a tutor. Currently I am living in Melbourne, Australia where I hope to continue growing as a creative educator.
